Change in Essay topic

When researching Does Animation and Visual Storytelling teach children?  i found lots of really good research and reference. But the references I've been finding are all more aimed at how to teach with visual storytelling in a classroom. Although all of this information was interesting, I wasn't able to link my Major project with this Essay topic. I had to try think of a new or add to this topic. 

My first thought was adding the topic of how colour language, music etc can add to the effect of teaching children but I couldn't get any good references. 

I came by the book Understanding Animation by Paul Wells. The chapter on Animation audiences is where I got my idea of linking Disney impacting children. My new topic was visual storytelling and how Disney had an impact.
